Pick Up from Entebbe / Kampala: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

The tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00 a.m. to begin your sight-seeing adventure to Murchison Falls National Park. It takes roughly 6-7 hours to go down the serpentine Kampala – Gulu highway. Along the route, you'll witness a lot of baboons, which will make you happy. You stop for lunch en route to Masindi Town before continuing to your waiting destination in the afternoon.

You drive to the ferry crossing line by entering through the southwestern gate. You then head to the lodge that you have reserved. You'll be surprised to observe some unusual birds, primates, and animals scurrying through the jungle. You check-in and retire from your long trek once you get to the lodge.

Game drive in the morning and a boat cruise in the afternoon

Breakfast is served at 6:00 a.m. so that you can participate in the dawn game drive. This is the perfect time to see the uncommon big cats because they are winding down after a full night of hunting. The solitary leopards, like the pride of lions, retire to their tree hideaways with carcasses for a snack. The spotted hyenas scurry around looking for cadavers, giggling. As the sun rises higher in the sky, you begin to notice various fauna, such as birds and animals, and you marvel at their diversity and adaptations. You'll spend several hours looking for everything your eyes can see. Return to the lodge for a bite to eat and a drink of water.

The boat cruise departs from Paraa soon after, and the jugged sail sets sail upstream, heading for the top of the falls. There have been as many sightings as there are sands on the beach. The croc bar, for example, can be seen during this 2-hour long sail. It's named after the large Nile crocodiles that live there. Other antelopes can be seen thriving along the sandbanks of the mighty river, including the Defassa waterbucks. Then it's time to disembark from your thrilling cruise and embark on the 45-minute hike to the top of the falls.

On an African vacation, this is the most soul-stirring event you can have. The seductive tones emanating from the gushing waters' profuse hissing tingle your senses. The enthralling views at this point will make you shout a lot. You'll see for yourself that it's magical up here.
